Foghorn has released eight albums since forming in 2000. The original line-up met while attending The National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest in Idaho. Featuring traditional instrumentation including mandolin, fiddle, banjos and upright bass, the band generally circles around one mic just as the progenitors of roots did a century ago. The group draws from classic bluegrass, country and cajun influences. The band’s technical prowess is often praised along with their fervor in playing old-time music like it was punk rock. Frontman Caleb Klauder (mando, fiddle, vocals) is also known for his work in the Caleb Klauder Country Band, which has released three albums themselves. Foghorn Stringband will also perform as the Foghorn Duo or Foghorn Trio at times, as well.
