Flor came together in 2014 in Hood River and originally played under the name Sunderland. After establishing their signature style that involves both electronic and traditional rock and roll instrumentation, the band moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional music career in earnest. In 2015 they released their debut album Sights & Sounds, which earned them a deal with the Fueled by Ramen record label the following year.
In the years that followed, Flor grew a devoted cult following due to their unique sound and high-concept releases. Many of their albums employ occult or esoteric imagery to address themes of change, alienation and a yearning for connection. They have been praised by critics for their poetic songwriting and sophisticated musicianship.
