Wasner is known for her work with the alternative rock duo Wye Oak. Born in 1986 in Baltimore, Wasner began learning to sing and play piano at five years old. At twelve she began playing guitar and composing her own songs. In high school, she met fellow musician Andy Stack, with whom she formed the band Wye Oak in 2010.
Wye Oak released their debut album Civilian the following year, which met with widespread critical acclaim. Civilian was named The A.V. Club’s Album of the Year and saw heavy use on the cult television series The Walking Dead. With Wye Oak, Wasner has performed alongside high-profile acts like The Decemberists, The National and Bon Iver.
In 2015 Wasner started her solo project Flock of Dimes. She released her album If You See Me, Say Yes through Partisan Records in 2016. Flock of Dimes saw success with the release of the hit single “Two” in 2021, which was a top 40 hit on the Adult Alternative Airplay chart.
