The group was originally composed of Gram Parsons tourmate Jock Bartley, Flying Burrito Brothers member Rick Roberts, bassist Mark Andes, guitarist Larry Burnett, and drummer Michael Clarke. Firefall got their first record deal after recording a demo tape in 1975 and released their first major-label album Firefall the following year. While the first single from the album failed to crack the Top 40, it propelled Firefall into a busy touring schedule that saw the band on the road with groups including Leon Russell and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

A great number of new fans began to clamor for Firefall tickets as their second single, “You Are the Woman” cracked the top 10 and landed the group a slot touring with Fleetwood Mac. The group’s follow-up album, Luna Sea, was also a commercial success and certified gold shortly after its release. With over ten studio albums to their name and a steady string of tour dates to this day, Firefall is keeping the classic 70’s folk rock sound alive to this day.
