Step into the heavy sound of hard rock and metal with Exhorder tickets through TicketSmarter! Exhorder was one of the early heavy metal bands when the genre first began to gain popularity. Formed in 1985, Exhorder swiftly became influential to the North Orleans metal scene.
Exhorder self-released two demos early in their career, "Get Rude" and "Slaughter in the Vatican," before focusing on their debut album. Slaughter in the Vatican was released in 1990 through Roadrunner Records. The album's success and unique thrash metal sound had fans quickly comparing Exhorder to other noteworthy bands like Pantera, White Zombie, Machine Head, and Lamb of God.
The demand for Exhorder tickets rose after their second album, The Law, in 1992. The album was well-received, and, in 1994, Exhorder released a live album, Live Death.
Unfortunately, Exhorder disbanded in 1994. However, they reunited in 2008 to work on new material following their extended hiatus. Their first performance following that hiatus was in 2009 at the Southport Hall. In addition, they performed at City Club and a gig with Crowbar at the Hanger later that same year.
Exhorder experienced some turmoil in the mid-2000s with a shakeup to their lineup. They invited drummer Seth Davis to replace their original drummer Christ Nail before touring again through 2010 and 2011. In 2011, Exhorder bassist Frankie Sparcello passed away from unknown causes. The band finished their tours, picking up bassist Jorge Caicedo at the last minute before taking another hiatus.
Exhorder reunited in 2017 and performed both of their albums at a two-night event in Brooklyn the following year. The band resumed touring through the United States following the concert, and, in 2018, they began working on a new album. That album, Mourn the Southern Skies, was released in 2019.
