Before winning the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019, Eva Ayllon held the record for most nominations without winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. She has also been awarded the Latin Grammy for Musical Excellence for her contribution to Peruvian culture.
Eva has been performing since 1973 in the genres of música criolla, folk, cumbia, Landó, Peruvian waltz and Festejo. Eva has released over 30 albums with many going gold and platinum. She has performed on tours throughout the world, including Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, and her home continent of South America. She has been on stage with renowned international artists such as Marc Anthony, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Mariza and Armando Manzanero.
