Enjambre began as the project of Rafael Navejas Diaz and Luis Humberto in Zacatecas, Mexico, originally called Fantastic Four. The duo then moved to Santa Ana, Calif., and in the early 2000s enlisted Romeo Navejas, Osamu Nishitani and Nico Saavedra to complete the lineup under the new name Enjambre.

By 2004 Enjambre had signed to Oso Records, through which they released their debut album, Consuelo on Sunday. Though the album had an experimental sound, the group’s musical sophistication earned them a nomination at the 2006 Lo Nuestro Awards. Despite a handful of lineup changes in the following years, their 2007 EP Mania Cardiaca was a smash hit, topping Mexico’s indie rock charts.

The successes would continue, with Enjambre’s 2010 album Daltonico enjoying widespread radio play and again topping the Mexican rock charts. The band’s growing popularity saw them perform at prestigious venues like the Metropolitan Theater and National Auditorium. The group has been widely praised for its genre-bending sound, which pushes the boundaries of rock music yet remains highly accessible.
