The Edmonton Stingers franchise was established in 2018 and saw their inaugural season begin the next year in May of 2019 with their first year head coach Jermaine Small. They dominated in that first year with a record of 14-6, where they finished second in the league, but lost in the semi-finals of the postseason to the Niagara River Lions.
