Formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2013 by high-schoolers vocalist frontwoman and guitarist Sydney Dolezal, drummer and songwriter Meghan Herring, bass guitarist Nicole Rich and guitarist Alex Snowden, Doll Skin is an all-female group playing in the genres of punk rock, alternative rock and pop-punk. Doll Skin’s sound and performance have been compared to other all-female rockers such as The Donnas, The Go-Go's and The Runaways.
The band released an EP in 2015 titled In Your Face. A single off that EP, "Family of Strangers", was popularized by play on many radio stations, not only in the United States but also in Europe and Asia. Then in 2017, Doll Skin recorded and released their debut full-length album titled Manic Pixie Dream Girl produced by Megadeth’s bass guitarist David Ellefson, followed by Love Is Dead And We killed Her in 2019. That album spawned a separately released single and video “Mark My Words,” which made it to #14 on Billboard’s ranking of The 25 Best Rock & Alternative Songs of 2019.
