Metalocalypse is an Adult Swim animated series centered around the misadventures of the (originally fictional) band Dethklok. In the series, Dethklok is the most successful band of all time, and the members live a luxurious lifestyle dwarfed only by their incompetence at even the most basic tasks. Throughout the series, the band tour and perform, all while their manager Charles Foster Offdensen does his best to mitigate the consequences of their bad decisions. 

A real band was formed in the wake of Metalocalypse’s runaway success, with the group releasing its debut album The Dethalbum in 2007. The Dethalbum reached the top 25 on the Billboard 200 and saw the group begin touring alongside high-profile acts Converge, High on Fire and Mastodon.
