Based in Los Angeles, the Death Valley Girls are a garage rock, psych-pop, proto-metal band that emerged on the scene in 2013, with their Manson style, B-Movie theatrics and their occult-themed lyrics. They find inspiration from Bikini Kill, Black Sabbath and the Cramps. The group was founded by none other than Hole drummer Patty Schemel, along with her brother Larry Schemel, Bonnie Bloomgarden and Rachel Orosco.

Death Valley Girls released their debut album on cassette in 2014 entitled Street Venom. They released their sophomore album two years later with Glow in the Dark. They kept trudging along with Darkness Rains in 2018 and found solace with their 2020 smash Under the Spell of Joy. This album put them on the map with such hits as “The Universe,” “Hold my Hand” and “10 Day Miracle Challenge” all going viral on most Spotify playlists.
