In 2015, guitarist, singer and songwriter Matt Turk, along with guitarist C Lanzbom formed Deadgrass, a strings-only band playing the music of Jerry Garcia from the days of Old & In The Way, JGB, Jerry's Jug Band and The Grateful Dead. Turk and Lanzborn added Dave Richards on bass, Russell Gottlieb on banjo and fiddler Kensuke Shoji. Matt Turk has been performing professionally throughout the United States and Europe for years and has been on stage with Pete Seeger. He has been the opening act for renowned artists such as Judy Collins, The Doobie Brothers, Fiona Apple and the Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart.

C Lanzbom is a touring and studio guitarist and Grammy winner who has worked with Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen and Soulfarm. Deadgrass blends Jerry Garcia's music with rock and jazz stylings but are not considered a tribute band. Instead, they interpret Jerry Garcia's music catalog and make it their own. Deadgrass has performed at venues throughout the United States, including Blissfest Folk & Roots Music Festival and Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival.
