Enjoy a tribute to Steely Dan with Deacon Blues tickets. Steely Dan was one of the biggest rock and roll bands in the 1970s, forming in 1971. The voices and driving force behind the band were Donald Fagan and Walter Becker. The group blended together rock, jazz, R&B, blues and Latin music to create their own sound.
That sound is recreated by the tribute band Deacon Blues. The tribute band was formed in 2012 by the Chicago musicians Cash Michaels, Steven Kikoen and Jonathan Hey formed the Bebop Daddys, a jazz-rock collective, which also featured Tom Mendel on bass and drummer Tom Hipskind.
The collective has then moved to recreate the musical-making progress that Fagan and Becker did with Steely Dan, bringing in top-tier studio musicians to help make the music. The only difference is that where Steely Dan used studio musicians to record their albums, the collective known as Deacon Blues performs their songs live, bringing that same spirit to their audience.
Rock along with a group that pays tribute to one of the signature groups of the 1970s with Deacon Blues tickets. The group takes its name from the song taken off the 1977 album Aja. The song’s themes reflected the dreams that Fagan and Becker had of becoming successful jazz musicians.
