The rodeo takes place in the Days of ’47 Arena at the Utah State Fairpark, in Salt Lake City, with 10,000 stadium-style seats. Presented by Zions Bank, this family-friendly event isn’t just a rodeo. In the exhibition area, there will be food trucks, handcart racing, and a carnival.  Also see a pioneer display, a mountain man camp, a Native American camp, and a longhorn display. There will also be a mechanical bull to ride free of charge. 

The rodeo itself boasts contestants from juniors’ level to professionals with half a million dollars of prize money available. Contestants will compete in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, women’s breakaway roping, and bull riding. Winners earn the right to compete in The Gold Medal Round on the last day of this 5-day rodeo. The Days of ’47 is a nonprofit, private, charitable corporation that seeks to educate Utah’s young and keep the pioneering spirit alive.
