David Bromberg is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Pennsylvania. Born in Philadelphia in 1945, Bromberg studied guitar at Columbia University before making a name for himself in Greenwich Village’s thriving folk music scene. By the early 70s the artist had mastered several instruments including the fiddle, mandolin and dobro. His skills saw him contribute to albums by a number of high-profile acts such as Jerry Jeff Walker, Rosalie Sorrels and Bob Dylan.
Over the next few decades, Bromberg became famous for his signature fingerpicking style, one he was taught by legendary blues singer Gary Davis. He became a longtime collaborator with Beatles’ member George Harrison, who contributed heavily to Bromberg’s eponymous 1972 release.
