Grier soon took a turn toward comedy, landing one of the early roles on the variety show In Living Color. The show would become a certified hit, winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Series. Grier’s success on In Living Color earned him several further roles in a number of hit comedies including Boomerang, DAG and Crank Yankers.
