During a local performance, they drew the attention of EPMD and were signed to their record label. In 1992, they released their debut album titled Dead Serious. The album went platinum and had the hit single “They Want EFX.” They went on to remix Ice Cube’s hit single “Check Yo Self.” The remix reached the Billboard charts. Soon after, they released Straight Up Sewaside in 1993 and Hold it Down in 1995. After the breakup of EPMD, both men were forced to take a break from music but returned in 1998 with the album titled Generation EFX. They released How We Do in 2005.
