Davis’ skills saw him perform with Bo Diddley, The Coasters and Muddy Waters, among many others.

In 2009, the artist won the Washington Area Music Award for Best Traditional Blues Instrumentalist, and for a number of years afterward led the Centrum Acoustic Blues Festival. He has received rave reviews by publications like Living Blues Magazine for his powerful vocals, impressive technique and charismatic on-stage persona. Davis wrote Klan-destine Relationships: A Black Man's Odyssey in the Ku Klux Klan, which recounts his experiences convincing dozens of members to renounce the organization.
