Lanois’ work with U2 earned him further collaborations, most notably with Bob Dylan in the late ’80s. He produced and co-wrote Dylan’s Time Out of Mind, which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1997.
Lanois also enjoys a successful career as a solo artist, reaching acclaim in 2005 when his album Belladonna earned a Grammy nod.
