Before creating The Hold Steady, Finn joined Lifter Puller as the frontman in 1994. Tad Kubler, who would also be in The Hold Steady, was a Lifter Puller member. The band issued three full-length studio albums, one EP and several singles. The band also released two compilation albums. The band’s oeuvre was re-released digitally, along with a book: Lifter Puller vs. The End of. Also included was live material and the compilation Slip Backwards.
