The two grew up as childhood friends in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Both friends were very musical from a young age. The name of their DJ duo comes from their love of classical compilations of different genres. Classixx isn’t influenced only by electronic artists like Kraftwerk. Genres like R&B and artists such as Paul Simon have been cited as influences for Classixx.
Blake and David went their separate ways after high school. David was touring with a band of his own and releasing his own music throughout the 2000s. Blake was enrolled in the Berklee School of Music. Sometime in 2005, both friends decided to give up on their solo pursuits. The two shortly formed Classixx.
