The group transformed into six by their first concert a year later. Bruns is a singer-songwriter/guitarist who is known for his rustic voice that spins tales of love, loss and life that is weaved through the instruments of cello, bass, piano and drums. The band put out their first EP to critical acclaim, which landed them a coveted spot at the South by Southwest music festival where they have been compared to the likes of the Band of Horses and The Avett Brothers.
Churchill then released their first album, Happy Sad, in 2011, and have not looked back since. They released a four-song EP in 2013, entitled The War Within, which features their mega-hit song “Change” which has received more than ten million streams on Spotify and another two million views of the music video on YouTube.
