The Chicago Football Classic is an annual event held to support the Chicago Football Classic, Inc., a not-for-profit that functions to influence prospective students and their parents to finish high school and to attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The organization was founded in 1997 by Larry Huggins and brothers Everett and Tim Rand.
The three created a scholarship fund to aid black students and created a weekend-long event involving students, their families and the black community. The aim is to raise the bar of excellence and achievement. This is done through an itinerary of educational, cultural and other activities.

On Sunday, there is a party as well as a brunch. The event finale is a musical performance by a regional act.
