Based in Los Angeles, this trio thinks outside the box when it comes to their music and showcased that in the recent single “Featured Singer.” Borne out of frustrated daydreaming, the lyrics describe lead singer Greg Katz’s desire to be an anonymous vocalist on an EDM song. He imagined taking a song by a famous DJ, adding his own uncredited vocals to it and having it become famous. He wrote a poem about it but little did he know that it would become something. After fellow band member Mandy sent him a killer bass line, he laid his poem over it, and a song was born.
Cheekface released the LP Emphatically No. in 2021, and it was ranked as the month’s best by Paste magazine. Since then, they put out a couple more singles named “We Need a Bigger Dumpster” and “Next to Me (Yo Guy Version).” For grooves that will get your head bobbing and catchy choruses that will put a smile on your face, you don’t want to miss getting Cheekface tickets. From discussing mental health to the government’s influence, Cheekface talks about real-life issues in a language everyone can understand.
