Enjoy a musical performance by an iconic star of the 1970s with Charo tickets. Actress, comedian, flamenco guitarist and singer Maria Rasario Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza, performing with the stage name Charo, was born in Murcia, Spain. She is best known for her catch-phrase “cuchi-cuchi.”

Charo began studying guitar under Andres Segovia when she was nine years old. She married bandleader Xavier Cugat in 1966, and the two relocated to the United States. She appeared on The Today Show. She was a guest performer on the Ed Sullivan Show four times between 1965 and 1967. 

She was seen ubiquitously on television in the late 1960s and 1970s, guest-starring on television shows such as Laugh-In, Fantasy Island, Donny and Marie and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She guest-starred on the Love Boat eight times. She also guest-hosted The Mike Douglas Show.

In the 1970s, she issued several disco recordings, including “Dance A Little Bit Closer.” She released a flamenco album, Guitar Passion, in 1994, which won the 1995 Female Pop Album of The Year award at the Billboard Latin Music Conference.
