The team name and logo were revealed in December of 2017 by the Washington Wizards. The name refers to the go-go music genre that became prominent from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s in the Washington D.C. locality. Jarell Christian was named the new team’s head coach along with Pops Mensah-Bonsu becoming general manager.
