Started by lead singer and only remaining founding member Marq Torien in Los Angeles in 1986, the original lineup featured members of Ratt and King Kobra. Influenced by genre giants like AC/DC and Van Halen, the group signed their first deal with Warner Brothers Records and released their self-titled debut album.
After their initial album reached #34 on the Billboard 200 with help from the singles “Smooth Up In Ya” and their cover of The O’Jay’s “For the Love of Money”, they hit the studio to record their follow up, 1991’s Freakshow. The album featured their popular cover of Tom Waits’ “Hang on St. Christopher”, which helped launch the album onto to rock charts once again. They released one more album under the Warner label, 1993’s Za-Za, before signing a new deal with Swordholio Records. They only released one album on the label before disbanding in 1995, then reforming in 1998 for a number of concerts. They’ve released a number of albums since their return, including 2018’s From Out of the Skies which was recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606.
