Blue Collar Boxing is a quasi-fight night featuring local labor union members in order to strengthen and raise money for their community. Blue Collar Boxing is hosted by the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) in partnership with United Way of the Midlands and the Nebraska Center of Workforce Development and Education. Workers from throughout the community come together to put on Blue Collar Boxing and each ticket sold supports a specific member of the community who is in need. 

In the past, those who have benefitted have included children who have experienced neglect and trauma who, through the proceeds of Blue Collar Boxing, were given safety and resources to develop into healthy adults. Other recipients have included expecting mothers who needed housing and early childhood supplies. This amateur boxing match is just one of many partnership programs embarked upon by the AFL-CIO and United Way of the Midlands. This event is both an exciting outing and goes to a good cause.
