Bill Kreutzmann Concert Tickets
Get your Bill Kreutzmann tickets and come rock out with one of the Grateful Dead’s legendary drummers. Born May 7, 1946, and raised in Palo Alto, California, Bill Kreutzmann started playing drums at age 13. In his later teens, he co-founded The Warlocks (1964), a band started with Phil Lesh, Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, and Ron “Pigpen” McKernan. The band practiced and continued performing under the name, and a year later, decided to change the band’s name to the iconic, Grateful Dead, for the next three decades (1965-1995).
In 1967, Mickey Hart would be recruited as a second drummer for the band, making them the first rock band with two drummers. Together they were dubbed the “Rhythm Devils” based on their synchronous, duet performances for the crowds, sending them into a frenzy of musical ecstasy. The band’s years of hard work and dedication finally paid off when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1994).
Sadly, the passing of Garcia in 1995, resulted in Kreutzmann leaving the band after more than 2,200 live performances. In 2007, the band would be honored at the Grammy’s with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Don’t miss your chance to get your Bill Kreutzmann tickets and see him live.
He was unable to stay away from the stage and would reunite with his former bandmates (excluding Pigpen) in their new band, The Other Ones and toured together in 2000 and 2002. Like their earlier days, the band would undergo a name change to The Dead and would continue touring and performing live (2003, 2004, 2009).
During his time with the band, he also joined the Rhythm Devils and toured in 2006, as well as releasing a DVD called, The Rhythm Devils Concert Experience (2008). In 2008, Kreutzmann decided to form a trio and continued performing as the group, BK3, with bassist James “Hutch” Hutchinson (Bonnie Raitt: Road Tested (1995)) and former guitarist for Max Creek, Scott Murawski. The year after, he formed the group, 7 Walkers, which he toured with and released a studio album in 2010.
