Berkeley High School Jazz Ensemble Concert Tickets
Come out and support the high school’s jazz ensemble when you purchase Berkeley High School Jazz Ensemble Tickets. The Berkeley High School Jazz Program got its roots in 1967 when Dr. Herb Wong hired Phil Hardymon and Dick Wittington to be elementary school music teachers and their goal was to teach the young students how to play jazz. After a huge success with the younger schools, in 1968 Wong took the program to another school where it grew into a 25 piece band where the band traveled all over the Bay area for the next three years. When Phil Hardymon became Berkeley High School’s band director in 1975, he then established the first jazz band for the elementary students who had gained the basics.
The ensemble has several concerts they do throughout the school year. These consist of a full-blown jazz ensemble concert as well as combos concerts and performances by the Two O’clock band, the Four O’clock, Eleven and Three O’clock bands. They typically do all their performances at Yoshi’s Jazz House in Oakland, California.
What better way to support the high school arts than to enjoy performances by the Berkeley Jazz Ensemble. To make sure you do not miss their next concert, grab yourself some Berkeley High School Jazz Ensemble tickets.
