It was founded in 2011 by Kareli Montoya and has already distinguished itself as one of the best Mexican folk dance companies around!
The group performs at world-class venues such as Hollywood Bowl and Orpheum Theater to name just a few- they've performed alongside Grammy-Award winners Lila Downs, Pepe Aguilar and Mariachi Divas among others. BFLA has also been accompanied by Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan, world-famous Mariachis and celebrities alike. The Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles offers an experience unlike any other in the country with their amazing feats of footwork to accompany symphonies both large like San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra or small venues such as Marina del Rey Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Frank Fetta among others. They have also graced the stage with some iconic celebrities such as Ana Barbara, Morrissey, Beatriz Adriana and the Armenian pop star Lilit Hovhannisyan!
