It wasn’t until 1993 that Bad Religion received mainstream acclaim. The re-release of the album Recipe for Hate debuted at number 14 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. The songs “American Jesus” and “Struck a Nerve” were hits on rock radio stations across the United States.

Bad Religion and other punk rock bands like Green Day and The Offspring enjoyed much success in the early 1990s.
