After an affair leaves Troy with a baby girl, his wife agrees to raise the girl but remains estranged from Troy and refuses to be his wife. Years later, Troy dies, and each family member has to reconcile their feelings and relationship with him. The fence that had been started long ago in an effort to protect their home is finally finished.
