Formed in 2007 and hailing from Westerville, Ohio, the group came to be formed of members from various local high school bands. After entering the studio, they gained the attention of a manager and in 2008, signed their first record deal with Rise Records.

Blending hard-hitting screamo and metalcore with catchy hooks and electronic elements, the band began developing a quick-growing fanbase with the help of social media platforms like Myspace. Their debut full-length album, Someday Came Suddenly, dropped in late 2008 and broke through onto multiple charts with the #9 spot on the Billboard US Heatseekers and entering the overall Billboard 200 as well. The album contained the game-changing single, “Stick Stickly”, for which a music video was released in 2009 and set the scene on fire with the introduction of the “crabcore” performance style seen in the video. Through a handful of lineup changes and the release of their follow-up self-titled album, the band released their third album, This Means War, in 2012 before going on a hiatus in 2013.
