Andy Thorn Concert Tickets

Watch some of the world's greatest banjo picking with Andy Thorn tickets. Thorn's powerful, driving banjo picking has helped carry his new band, Leftover Salmon to staggering new heights after leaving his first home of the Emmitt-Nershi Band. Hailing from North Carolina, where they are known for their bluegrass music style, Andy first began playing when he was 12 years old. He purchased a banjo at a neighborhood garage sale and has not stopped playing since.

Thorn attended the University of North Carolina, where he earned a degree in Jazz Guitar and played with one of America's most influential bands Big Fat Gap. They have been instrumental in cultivating musicians for over twenty years and have been known for helping students get into some of the best bands in the country after graduation.

After winning the RockyGrass banjo contest that same year and garnering waves of attention, Thorn played with Flatpicking Legend Larry Keel, which took him to the East Coast. He then went on to Emmitt-Nershi Band and then finally cemented himself with Leftover Salmon in 2011.
