He fused acoustic hard rock with metal in the band Arktype — an artistic feat rarely achieved — and mixes funk, folk and rock in Salt Licks, another one of his bands. His last project, The Barefoot Movement blends bluegrass and folk.
Marlin is often compared to the likes of Eddie Vedder, John Lennon and Jim Morrison. He also credits his mother with inspiring him to pursue his passion for singing and performing live.
