Originally formed in Minneapolis in 1997 the band has risen to become one of metal’s most legendary units. The group started with a few names like Flux and other options before settling on American Head Charge because Chad Hanks “liked three-word names.” The original lineup of the group included Chad Hanks (bass), Cameron Heacock (vocals), David Rogers (guitar), Peter Harmon (drums) and Chris Emery (keys).
Even as the band’s lineup has changed over time American Head Charge tickets have always packed an addictive sound that draws in audiences. The group’s first release was the album Trepanation in 1999 which garnered enough attention to sign a deal with Rick Rubin’s American Recordings. After moving to Los Angeles American Head Charge made their first major-label release in 2001 entitled The Art of War. The album reached number one on the US Heat charts and led the way to 2005’s The Feeding. American Head Charge disbanded for a couple of years in 2009 but reunited to create more work like the 2016 Tango Umbrella.
