Amarillo Symphony Concert Tickets
Come and be a witness to one of the greatest symphonies to ever perform when you purchase Amarillo Symphony Tickets. In 1924, a 12 member group known as the Philharmonic Club, also known as the “Original 12”, began performing concerts for residents in Amarillo. Just two short years later, the group had a full-time conductor by the name of Ellis B. Hall. The Philharmonic Club would grow to boast 85 musicians and would become the only professional symphony in the Texas Panhandle region. During the 1960s the Philharmonic Club renamed itself the Amarillo Symphony. The symphony plays at the Globe-News Center Performance Hall in downtown Amarillo which opened in 2006.
The Amarillo Symphony’s repertoire consists of everything classical and modern. The symphony plays classics like Mozart’s “Requiem,” Handel’s “Messiah” and even Brahm’s “Symphony Number 4.” They also tend to perform a Holiday Pops concert in the month of December that includes all your favorite holiday favorites like “Carol of the Bells” and “O Holy Night.” The symphony tends to have world premieres of artists outside the company to perform their own pieces or pieces they have mastered like Tim Fain and his piece “Edge of a Dream for Violin and Orchestra.”
