Born in 1969, Castiglia began learning guitar at the age of twelve. As a young man, he joined the blues band Miami Blues Authority, and his work with the group saw him named the Miami New Times’ Best Blues Guitarist. Through the late 90s Castiglia played in the touring bands of stars Junior Wells and Sandra Hall, then in 2002 joined David Shelley’s blues-rock supergroup the Alligator Alley Allstars.

Soon afterward Castiglia set off on his solo career, releasing his debut album Burn in 2004. The artist earned his first serious attention with his 2008 release These Are the Days, which received a nod for a Blues Music Award. Castiglia’s later albums earned him Roots Music Report’s Top Blues Album Award two years in a row, and his 2014 release Solid Ground was a top ten Billboard hit.
