In 1988 the Mitchell and the Edmonds brothers were brought to Virgin Records by the hit-makers Antonio “L.A.” Reid and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, who is Kevon and Melvin’s younger brother. Their self-titled debut album went platinum and had two number one Billboard R&B singles, “Can’t Stop” and “Ready or Not.” Their songs have been featured multiple times on the hit show Beverly Hills 90210.
After a 20 year hiatus, the group came together to record with the writing and production team of Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Daryl Simmons. They released their album Timeless which saw the group achieve five Top 10 hits on the Billboard Urban AC Charts. After 7 is a NAACP Image Award recipient.
