Quaint and weirdly relaxing Advance Base tickets are an interesting mix of tranquil and soul-searching that fans continue to love. The solo project of Owen Ashworth, Advance Base was started in 2010. Growing up in Redwood, Calif., Ashworth began his music career on a Casio keyboard in 1997 originally going by the name of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone. As Ashworth developed his minimalist electronic indie sound, he eventually retired from CftPA and moved to Chicago, Ill., to start Advance Base. Ashworth started doing shows around Chicago with bands like Concern and the Donkeys while releasing singles and working with local artists.
In 2012 Ashworth released his first full-length album as Advance Base with help from the German indie label Tomlab who have released Advance Base’s first five albums. Advance Base tickets rose in popularity as a result of the release as audiences gravitated towards Ashworth’s lo-fi sound and simple, yet poignant lyrical style. Ashworth released another successful EP in 2013 entitled The World Is In a Bad Fix Everywhere followed up with the full-length Nephew in the Wild in 2015. In 2018 Advance Base impressed critics again with the release of Animal Companionship. The name Advance Base came from Ashworth’s name for his studio along with the Antarctic meteorological station where Admiral Richard E. Byrd curiously died in 1934.
