They would proceed to release their underground record Listen to the Lyrics in 1991, officially putting the two on the map, and soon earned them a contract with Suave Records. However, everything would change with the release of their first official debut album, Comin’ Out Hot, which would prove to be a massive success. Officially solidifying their status as pioneers of Southern Rap, since then they have gone on to record a large number of critically and commercially acclaimed albums, opening the door for other southern rap artists to also emerge while changing the trajectory of southern rap music forever.
