It is his way of modernizing electronic dance music (EDM) by combining electronica music with energetic funk, electro-soul and his explosive live saxophone rhythms.
GRiZ’s artistry in the techno world led him to develop his label All Good Records. This enabled him to promote his music, as well as, fellow funk-electro artists Manic Focus, The Floozies and Muzzy Bearr, who is also GRiZ’s live guitarist.
He released his first album in 2011. GRiZ didn’t have mainstream success until his fifth album, “Good Will Prevail,” debuted at number one on the iTunes Electronic chart. The album charted despite not having sold a single copy, as GRiZ shares his music with the world for free via a download.
GRiZ took a year off to recharge and his fans could not be happier with what he created after coming back. “Riding Waves” is an epic 14-track album that contains several collaborations with legendary artists Snoop Dogg, DRAM, Bootsy Collins, Matisyahu and Wiz Khalifa. GRiZ tickets were in high demand after this release.
He followed up that album with a series of EPs titled “Bangers.Zip.” One of the songs was a collaboration with riddim producer Subtronics, titled ‘Griztronics,’ that went viral!
