Vulgaires Machins came together in 1995 in Granby, releasing their debut album La Vie Est Belle the following year. They gained significant praise for their raw yet sophisticated sound reminiscent of acts like the Misfits, Black Flag and the Dead Kennedys. Vulgaires Machins rose to fame, however, through their 2006 release Compter Les Corps. Compter Les Corps would earn a nod for the Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year as well as for the MuchMusic Video Awards for French Video of the Year. In 2010 their single “Parasites” received the French ECHO Songwriting Prize.
Beauregard has since enjoyed success as a solo artist, earning a nomination for the prestigious SOCAN Songwriting Prize for his single “De Pluie et De Cendre.” He has also appeared in film in Maxime Giroux’s 2008 drama Demain.
