Aukerman originally started Comedy Bang! Bang! in Los Angeles in 2009 under the name Comedy Death-Ray Radio. The podcast would later be named Comedy Bang! Bang! in 2011 following changes to the program’s structure and format. Comedy Bang! Bang! is now also well-known for its extended musical improvisations by musical comedian Reggie Watts. The podcast has earned rave reviews from publications such as Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly and GQ.
