AMA Supercross Tickets
Secure your AMA Supercross tickets to see the fastest riders take each other inside a major stadium! Supercross is an offshoot of the typical motocross racing that sees motorcycle riders racing on multi-turn dirt tracks with big jumps and obstacles. The main difference between the two is that Supercross takes place at NASCAR superspeedways and large-scale football or baseball stadiums. The American Motorcyclist Association began sanctioning a SuperCross Championship in 1974 after several motocross events were held inside stadiums and dubbed the Super Bowl of Motocross. Supercross and Motocross became two separate disciplines of motorcycle racing at this point, but several riders compete in both disciplines throughout the year.
Motorcycle fans that buy AMA Supercross tickets are bound to see big-name riders and exciting on-track action. The AMA Supercross Championship consists of two classes of bikes based on engine size. The premier class is 450cc, which was formerly known as 250cc 2-stroke. The championship in the premier class has been won multiple times by the likes of Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Ryan Villopoto and Ryan Dungey.
The secondary class is currently known as 250cc and was originally known as the 125cc 2-stroke. The 250cc riders are split into the 250cc East and 250cc West with individual champions in each series every year. Previous champions in this class have included the likes of Travis Pastrana, Chad Reed and James Stewart Jr.

AMA Supercross Dates & Schedule
After the formation of AMA Supercross, the series became the de facto winter discipline for dirt bike racers. The AMA Supercross schedule begins in early January in Los Angeles. The series will hold 18 races over consecutive weekends with an exception for Easter weekend. The first several races on the calendar are held in California or Arizona to take advantage of the warmer weather in outdoor stadiums. The series will begin moving into colder climates in February where they can race in domed stadiums or stadiums with retractable roofs.
One of the highlights during the Supercross season is the annual event held at Daytona International Speedway. This race features a track designed by Ricky Carmichael that is built on the infield tri-oval grass. Daytona is considered the birthplace of modern-day Supercross. The Monster Cup is the season finale which is held during the first weekend of May at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon completion of the AMA Supercross schedule, many of the riders will then compete in the AMA Motocross Championship, which takes place on outdoor, purpose-built Motocross tracks from May through August.
