How Much Do Bowl Games Cost?

Bowl game tickets typically start around $30 for seats further away from the field. If you want to be closer to the field or up in a suite, tickets can cost several hundred dollars. Ticket prices will also depend on the matchup. For example, if you want to see one of the New Year’s Six games or a CFP Semifinal, those tickets will likely be more expensive since the game is considered higher quality.

Team Profiles

Georgia Southern (6-6) is headed to its fifth bowl game in six seasons and sixth in the nine years since moving to the FBS. Isaac Walker is tied for the FBS lead with five forced fumbles and Khaleb Hood has a chance to break his single-season rushing record of 925 yards. The Eagles will face Ohio in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

Louisiana (6-6) will play in its sixth consecutive bowl game when the Ragin’ Cajuns face Jacksonville State in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Louisiana ranks 31st in the nation for passing offense averaging 182.7 yards per game. The Ragin’ Cajuns scored 24 rushing touchdowns this season.

App State (8-5) won the SBC’s East Division on their way to earning a spot in the Cure Bowl. The Mountaineers are led by Joey Aguilar, who is tied for third place nationally with 33 touchdown passes. The junior quarterback also holds a single-season program record with 3,546 passing yards.

Old Dominion (6-6) won its final two conference games to earn an invitation to the Famous Toastery Bowl. There, the Monarchs will face Western Kentucky. This is the second bowl game in three years for Old Dominion and coach Ricky Rahne. Linebacker Jason Henderson anchors the defense and leads the country with 170 tackles.

Marshall (6-6) will make its seventh-straight bowl game appearance when the Thundering Herd faces UTSA in the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl. The program boasts a 13-5 record in bowl games. At .722, that is the highest bowl game-winning percentage among FBS teams that have participated in at least 10.

Arkansas State (6-6) will make its first bowl game appearance since 2019 when the Red Wolves meet Northern Illinois in the Camellia Bowl. The Red Wolves won six of their last 10 games to end the season and double their win total from 2022. They also tied for second in the Sun Belt’s West Division with a 4-4 mark in conference play.

Georgia State (6-6) is going bowling for the fourth time in five seasons, and hoping to win a third straight game. Overall, the program has earned a bid in six of the 10 years since moving to FBS. The Panthers started strong, winning six of their first seven games and will now face Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

James Madison (11-1) will make its first bowl game appearance after finishing atop the Sun Belt East Division. The Dukes are also the first to win 10 games against FBS opponents as a team in transition. They enter the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl as the AP’s 24th-ranked team. JMU leads the country in rushing defense, yards per rush allowed and tackles for loss.

South Alabama (6-6) is making its second consecutive bowl game and fourth in program history. The Jags will host the 68 Ventures Bowl at their home venue, Hancock Whitney Stadium, and face Eastern Michigan. Notably, South Alabama recorded the program’s second-ever victory against a Power Five school in Oklahoma State and blanked Marshall for its first FBS shutout.

Coastal Carolina (7-5) will make its fourth consecutive bowl appearance when the Chanticleers face San Jose State in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl. The Chanticleers boast one of the country’s most formidable defenses, ranking in the top 15 for defensive touchdowns, interceptions and turnovers gained.

Texas State (7-5) is also set to make its first bowl game appearance in 2023. The Bobcats will face Rice in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. They posted a 4-4 record in conference play and finished second in the West Division. This marked the program’s first winning season since 2014 and matched their FBS program record for wins.
