Saddle up! The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) are preparing for their 30th anniversary season with competition in more than 50 cities and 35 states. The elite Unleash The Beast (UTB) Series will start Nov. 26-27 in Tuscon, Ariz., and the expansion Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour starts Jan. 6-7 in Lexington, Ky. Both conclude in May.
History of the PBR
The PBR began in 1992 when a group of professional bull riders decides to break away from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). The outfit is now headquartered in Pueblo, Colo., and has more than 500 members that compete around the globe. They compete in four tours: the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour, Unleash The Beast, Challenger Series and PBR Team Series.
PBR Unleash The Beast Schedule
The seven-month UTB schedule includes 24 events highlighted by stops at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the BOK Center in Tulsa, Okla, and Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. On Dec. 3 and 4th riders will compete in the PBR TicketSmarter Invitational at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. The 2023 PBR World Finals: Unleash The Beast will take place in Fort Worth at Dickie’s Arena for the second consecutive year. It is scheduled over two weekends, May 12–21.

PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Schedule
The Velocity Tour will hold 26 events with stops in cities like Portland, Ore., Greenville, S.C., and Fresno, Calif. The PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Finals are scheduled for May 5–6 and will take place during Buc Days in Corpus Christi, Texas. Riders will compete for the title of 2023 PBR Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Champion and five open spots in the 2023 PBR World Finals.
