For nearly three decades, country superstar Trace Adkins has entertained fans around the world with his booming baritone vocals and charming personality. Now his reach extends far beyond the studio and stage with a robust resume that includes television and film appearances.

Adkins returned to the road in February for his Somewhere in America 2023 Tour, which includes a stop at the inaugural Country Roots Festival in Kansas City, Kan. He will join fellow headliners Chris Young and Gabby Barrett on May 13 at Legends Field. The Country Roots Festival is produced by Kustom 440 and all guests must be 21 or older.

In the Studio and On Stage

The Louisiana native released his first single, “There’s a Girl in Texas,” in 1996 and it peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard US Country Songs chart. He later included the song on his debut album Dreamin’ Out Loud with the chart-topping “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing.” Certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America or RIAA, the album also helped him secure the Academy of Country Music’s Top New Male Vocalist title in 1997.

Adkins stayed busy releasing six more albums over the next 10 years, including a pair of No. 1s in Songs About Me (2005) and Dangerous Man (2006). He has 12 studio albums, six greatest hits albums and has sold more than 11 million copies. Songs About Me is Trace Adkins’ most successful album. Hits like “Arlington” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” helped the album earn double-platinum status.

He released his most recent album, The Way I Wanna Go in 2021 as a celebration of 25 years in the music industry. It featured collaborations with a diverse group of fellow musicians, including Luke Bryan, Pitbull, Melissa Etheridge, Stevie Wonder and Snoop Dogg. Adkins sold out all 21 shows on the accompanying tour.

In Film and On Television

Adkins made his acting debut in the 1987 film Square Dance and has since appeared in The Lincoln Lawyer (2011), Mom’s Night Out (2014) and I Can Only Imagine (2018). He has been on several popular game shows and reality series like Hollywood Squares and Celebrity Apprentice as well. His first starring role was Albie Roman in Monarch. Adkins starred opposite Susan Sarandon in the 2022 production of a country music dynasty. He is also the host of Ultimate Cowboy Showdown. It is a reality show in which cowboys show off their skills like wrangling, roping and horsemanship.
