On December 12, pop icon Janet Jackson announced that she would be going on tour with rapper Ludacris as the opening act. This tour marks Jackson’s first tour in four years since the 30th anniversary of her Rhythm Nation 1814 album. Janet Jackson is the youngest child in the Jackson family, a group of entertainers and musicians from Gary, Ind. This dynamic singer and dancer has had a prolific career with more than 160 million records sold across the world, making her one of the best-selling music artists in history. With five Grammy Awards, 11 Billboard Music Awards, and AMA Awards, among other awards and nominations, Jackson has become an icon in the music industry, breaking gender and racial barriers with her music. 

The Together Again tour will spotlight two of Janet Jackson’s most popular albums, janet (1993) and The Velvet Rope (1997). Audiences can expect to see Jackson perform hits songs like “Rhythm Nation,” “That’s the Way Love Goes,” “All for You” and “Together Again” while putting on an elaborate show. Most recently Janet Jackson released The Velvet Rope (Deluxe Edition) album in 2022, with “Got ’Til It’s Gone” as the lead single. While this song failed to gain attention with its first release in 1998, Jackson’s creative reworking of the song has made it stream on Spotify more than 75 million times.

Born Christopher Brian Bridges, after graduating college, Ludacris signed with the Def Jam South label in the late 1990s and independently released his debut album, Incognegro in 1999. This album would later be re-released as Back for the First Time with the lead single “Southern Hospitality” ft. Pharrel. Ludacris’ success has earned the rapper three Grammy Awards, a 2005 MTV Video Music Award for “Number One Spot”, and three BET Awards for his collaborative works with artists like Usher, Mary J Blige, and Lil Jon.

Along with his music career, Ludacris has established himself as a capable actor in films like Crash and the Fast and Furious franchise in the recurring role of Tej Parker. Ludacris would create and voice act in his animated series, Karma’s World, which follows the adventures of an aspiring young female rapper. The multi-season series debuted in October 2021 on Netflix. 

Luda fans can expect to hear popular hits like “How Low”, “My Chick Bad”, and “Act a Fool.”, as well as the lead singles “Good Lovin” and “Come & See Me” from the rapper’s latest album Ludaversal (2015).
